- President of India has inaugurated the first World Youth Conference on Kindness in New Delhi.
- The conference is organized by UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development and Ministry of Human Resource Development.
- The theme of the conference is ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: Gandhi for the Contemporary World: Celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi”.
- The objective of the conference is to impart critical competencies namely empathy, compassion, mindfulness and critical inquiry in global youth to enable them to transform themselves and build long-lasting peace in their communities.
- The aim of the conference is also to provide youth with creative, effective methods of engaging and realising the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
