- The Indian Culture portal was envisioned by the Ministry of Culture and was created by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, in collaboration with IGNOU
- It is the first government-authorized portal where knowledge and cultural resources of various organizations of the Ministry of Culture are available in public domain on a single platform
