WorldSkills Kazan 2019

  1. The 45th WorldSkills Competition is being held in Kazan,Russia.
  2. The WorldSkills International Competition is a biennial event and the biggest showcase of skills excellence in the world.It is conducted by the WorldSkills International.
  3. The objective of the competition is to demonstrate the advantages of learning a vocational skill and encouraging ‘parity of esteem’ between vocational and academic qualifications.
  4. The WorldSkills International is a not for profit membership association open to agencies or bodies which have a responsibility for promoting vocational education and training in their respective countries/regions. The organization is registered in Amsterdam,Netherlands.
  5. Currently,it consists of 79 Member countries and regions,most of which organise national skills competitions that help to prepare the workforce and talent of today for the jobs of the future.
  6. National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Ministry of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has been leading India’s delegation at the event since 2011.
